We hereby express our sincerest condolences to Ka Marie’s bereaved family, comrades and friends and share with them their grief over her demise and their joy over her great achievements in serving the Filipino people, joining them in their national and social liberation and championing human rights against violations committed during the Marcos fascist dictatorship and during the post-Marcos regimes.

It is a great honor for me, as Founding Chairman of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), to join the Commemoration of the International Day for the Freedom of Revolutionary Political Prisoners and the 4th Meeting of the International Coordinating Committee for Solidarity and for the Freedom of Revolutionary Political Prisoners of the World in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico on April 23 and 24.

As background, let me cite the fact that in the Communist Manifesto of 1848, Marx and Engels had already differentiated Scientific Socialism from Utopian Socialism of three kinds:
