Philippine Society and Revolution remains a solid basis for understanding the history of the Filipino people, their basic problems and the new democratic revolution as the solution

It is the duty of every Filipino activists to study and deepen continually one’s knowledge of the history of the Philippines. Only in this manner can the historical roots of the basic problems of the people and the semi-colonial and semi-feudal framework of Philippine society be understood.

As background, let me cite the fact that in the Communist Manifesto of 1848, Marx and Engels had already differentiated Scientific Socialism from Utopian Socialism of three kinds:

But we are now in a period of transition to a world of revolutionary flow against the evils and rottenness of decadent monopoly finance capitalism.
