We are confronted with a monster that must be ousted from power as soon as possible

Author´s Note: As founding chairman of the Communist Party of the Philippines, I have been asked by academic, journalist and activist friends and many other people to evaluate the CPP in the last 50 years and describe its current situation and prospects. All of them are anticipating the fast approaching golden anniversary of the CPP. I write this article on the basis of my previous experience and on the basis of publicly available documents.

President Kim Il Sung has bequeathed to us a glorious legacy of resolute struggle for national independence, democracy and socialism against Imperialism and all reaction. His revolutionary record of 70 years is a brilliant inspiration not only to the Korean people but also to all mankind.

The study of Marxism is indispensable for understanding the current status and crisis of global capitalism. It was Marx who first uncovered systematically the laws of motion of capitalism, how the capitalist class extracts surplus value from the working class in the process of social production, over-accumulates capital and shrinks the wage fund and thereby creates the crisis of overproduction relative to the purchasing power of the working people.

Advocate Surendra Gadling, professor Shoma Sen and activist Mahesh Raut were taken from their homes in the city of Nagpur. In a coordinated operation, the police also arrested activists Sudhir Dhawale in Mumbai and Rona Wilson in Delhi.

This latest massacre of Palestinians by Israeli soldiers killed 60 and wounded 2,000 others. One of the casualties was an eight-month-old baby girl, Laila Anwar al-Ghandor. Israeli snipers were shooting with live bullets at the protesters including at children, women, journalists and paramedics.

The organizers have estimated that around 100,000 Palestinians would participate in the protest actions. The protests are to culminate on May 15 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the partition of historic Palestine in 1948 that created the state of Israel which the Palestinians call Al Nakba (catastrophe) day

“The fact that there are documents painstakingly drafted, which served as the guidelines on the series of negotiations are proof that there are positive outcome from the talks,” he said, citing the Comprehensive Agreement on the Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, the Comprehensive Agreement on Socio-Economic Reform and the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantee.
