But the new story errs in casually stating that 217 New People’s Army (NPA) surrenderees were hosted by Duterte last Wednesday night in Malacanang and even the NPA women surrenderees applauded Duterte´s incitement to his armed minions to shoot NPA women members in the vagina.

More importantly the national democratic movement of the youth and the people has gained a tremendous amount of revolutionary experience from the founding of Kabataang Makabayan in 1954 or the First Quarter Storm of 1970.

Through the JMS People’s Academy, the mass movement hopes to overcome the error of empiricism, conservatism and elitism in theoretical study, parliamentarism and legalism, and the minimal number of formal political education.

Marcinho’s murder outside of his home in the Chapada Diamantina region, at the age of 34, in front of his son, and through three gunshot wounds in his head, is most revolting. It is the latest addition to the growing list of peasant leaders and activists in Brazil, many belonging to the progressive MST, who are being murdered for fighting for land, life and justice for the landless.



Yes, within 20 years, there is more than enough time for the crises of the ruling system and global system, the relentless struggle of the people for national liberation and democracy and the peace negotiations to generate conditions for the election of a President who is anti-imperialist and progressive, as in the countries of Latin America that you have mentioned.

The real terrorists are the fascist clique and armed minions of Duterte in the AFP, PNP and paramilitary groups. They seek to generate hysteria against the CPP and NPA and likewise against all legal opposition groups, social activists, critics, the churches, press and others being accused of destabilizing the tyrannical regime.

It is not true that Duterte enjoys high trust rating and popularity despite the notoriety it has gained in the Philippines and abroad for the mass murder of drug suspects, the killing of peasants and the indigenous people, the destruction of Marawi, the abuses of martial law and the scheme of fascist dictatorship through Con-Ass and ChaCha. The commercial survey firms, like Pulse Asia and SWS, are not asking the correct questions and are not using the correct methods in their small sampling of public opinion.

Of course, when I first read the report on Duterte´s interview with Mindanews I had some misgivings that he did not mean what he said because of his notoriety for saying one thing and then saying the opposite within a short period and also because of his arrogance and anger in setting some absurd preconditions, like the CPP and NPA humbling themselves and capitulating to his tyrannical rule
