In a statement following Malacañan’s announcement of termination of the peace process Thursday night, NDFP Chief Political Consultant Jose Maria Sison said the fifth round of formal talks was actually slated on November 25 to 27.

“After several months of hard work in unilateral and bilateral meetings, the GRP and NDFP negotiating panels were ready to do a little polishing of common drafts on November 22 and 23 in Utrecht, The Netherlands for finalization in the slated fifth round of formal talks in Oslo on November 25 to 27, 2017,” Sison said.

Former NDFP peace panel chairman Luis Jalandoni said for scrapping the talks, Duterte “must answer to the Filipino people who long for a just ad lasting peace by addressing the roots of the armed conflict” waged by the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People’s Army for almost 50 years.

“Duterte is the No. 1 terrorist in the Philippines. He is culpable for the abduction, torture, and mass murder of an increasing large number of poor people suspected drug users and pushers, peasants and indigenous people in suspected guerrilla fronts and Moro people suspected of aiding the Dawlah Islamiyah from the time of the indiscriminate bombing of Marawi City to the present in several Bangsamoro areas,” Sison said in a statement on Thursday.

In a strongly-worded statement following his former student’s threats against the Left, Sison said Duterte is culpable for the abduction, torture and mass murder of an increasing large number of poor people suspected of being drug users and pushers.

“Ang Philippine Army maraming pinatay, mga matatanda na walang laban, mga kababaihan … Daan–daan ‘yung pinagpapaslang na magsasaka at libu-libo ‘yung pinaslang na walang laban sa sinabing ano, drug user (The Philippine Army has killed so many, the defenseless elderly , women … Hundreds of farmers have been killed and thousands of defenseless alleged drug users),” Sison said.

Sison said he would support Mr. Duterte’s revolutionary government if it meant rebel forces determining government agenda.

Sison said: “By undermining the corruption charges against the big shots, Duterte has been paying his political debts to the Arroyo, Marcos and Estrada dynasties for the Luzon bailiwick votes that added to his own Mindanao bailiwick vote.”

Duterte is using his so-called war on illegal drugs as a means of projecting an image as a strong man with an iron fist in order to intimidate the people and his political opponents and to popularize extrajudicial killings as a device for building a fascist dictatorship. But in only 14 months he has murdered too many, some 14,000, on mere suspicion as drug users and pushers in urban poor communities. He has gained notoriety for himself as a human rights violator. At the same time, it turns out that he is the protector of his compadre Peter Lim who is one of the biggest drug lords. His son Paolo Duterte has been exposed as a big drug smuggler and a rising drug lord himself.
